Rise and shine on the banks of the holy river

we arrived pretty early at the ghat yesterday morning..
the ghat at Yamuna river that is...the embankment...Ramghat

I have shown you pictures from this before but...
I decided to show you anyhow
because the holy river is so important in peoples life around here

Ramghat has a cluster of temples

Yamuna river is used for keeping clean, puja-prayer, play, fishing...you name it

sweeping out the leftovers from the puja...

early morning vendors...selling everything needed for the morning puja...
and also water containers so that you can bring some of the holy water home with you...

it was early...

this little guy was a really good freestyler.... he swam really good...

Yamuna river is he largest tributary of the Ganges
originating from Yamunotri glacier at a height of 6,387 meters in the lower part of the Himalayas,
in the state of Uttarakhand...
it travels a total length of 1,376 kilometers before merging with the Ganges
